Actress Ashley Greene was born on February 21, 1987, in Jacksonville, Florida. She left high school early to pursue an acting career in Hollywood. Shortly after relocating to California, Greene was cast as Alice Cullen in Twilight, the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel. Actress Ashley Greene was born on February 21, 1987, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she also grew up. Greene graduated with honors from high school early, at age 17, before moving to Los Angeles, California to pursue a modeling and acting career. Working as a waitress, she began landing small roles in shows like Crossing Jordan and MADtv. Soon, she befriended a peer group of other young up-and-comers, including Gossip Girls' Jessica Szohr.Commercial Success
Greene did not have to pay her Hollywood dues for very long. In 2008, at the age of 21, she landed a supporting role in Twilight, the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s popular novel. The role would change the course of her career. After originally auditioning for the part of Bella Swan and losing the lead to actress Kristen Stewart, Greene was cast as vampire Alice Cullen, the sister of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) in the film. The role involved playing down Greene's good looks; she wore a short shag wig, and makeup with a grayish tone was applied to her skin.In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Green stated that she had never heard of the Twilight book series until she was cast in the first film adaptation in 2008: "I did my research and found out what [I was] getting myself into, and was just blown away." The Twilight movie series would go on to become one of the most successful film franchises in history, with the first four films bringing in nearly $2.5 billion.
Greene has starred in all five of the Twilight films: Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. As a result of the film series' success, Greene became a star, virtually over night.
Greene’s movie career extends beyond the Twilight series. Her other films include Butter, starring Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman, and LOL with Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus.

Salary Dispute
The commercial and financial success of the Twilight franchise caused Greene and her co-star, Kellan Lutz, to renegotiate their contracts for the franchise’s final two installments. After much dispute and threats from the studio, Greene and Lutz settled. They are believed to have made around $1.25 million for each of the Breaking Dawn films.Personal Life
Off-screen, Greene has made headlines for her celebrity relationships. In 2009, she briefly dated Gossip Girl star Chase Crawford. In 2010, she began a very public relationship with Joe Jonas, a member of the popular Jonas Brothers group, which lasted for nearly a year.
